"This little girl was diagnosed with medullablastoma on the first day of Grade One, went through brain surgery, chemo and horrific radiation. She is now in my Grade Four class with a full-time aide, who was told by hospital consultants that multiplication would be too difficult for her. She's halfway through the Fractions Unit, and cried when I told her we weren't doing math today."
