JUMP Math: A Balanced Approach to Numeracy Skill Building and Problem Solving, Grades 4-8

Join Gael James and Charlene MacKenzie, Outreach Managers in Alberta, for an introduction to the evidence-based design and instructional approach of JUMP Math. We will examine methods of Guided Discovery, Confidence Building and Continuous Assessment for improved student outcomes in mathematical learning. Participants will gain practical strategies for a successful year of mathematical skill-building and problem-solving, using a sequential approach that builds engagement and encourages all learners to become flexible, independent thinkers and communicators in mathematics. Together, we will experience JUMP Math's lessons, activities and games that you can immediately take and use in your classroom.
